Trail Ridge LandfillWaste Management, the nation’s largest waste services provider, operates the Trail Ridge Landfill serving the City of Jacksonville and Duval County area of Northeast Florida. The site is owned by the City of Jacksonville, and Waste Management has a life-of-site operational agreement with the city. The site provides environmentally responsible solid waste management to the area and employs 25 people at the landfill.
Not only does Trail Ridge receive waste, it is home to a beautiful habitat area located on over 900 acres in Duval County. The land is not only rich in a variety of plants, but also abundant with many species of birds and mammals. It is not unusual to spot one of the family of eagles that inhabit the site.
